Swanky Baby Vintage NOW ON SALE!!!

I know, it seemed like it was never going to happen (at least to me) but the Swanky Baby Vintage Candy Coated Carnival Line is now on sale!!  The entire line is now 25% off.  Please check out my 2 favorite stores to purchase this line Smart and Sassy Looks and One Good Thread.  I have spoken to both store owners this week and between the two of them they have plenty of stock to fit your needs for every size and style.

Here are a few real life pictures of our items from the line, I feel Gabby's shows it off better than the flat stock photos of each piece (photo credits to Becki Jo's Photography on facebook) and yes I am bias.  I think this first outfit makes a perfect outfit to start your transition into fall wardrobe.  This is Faith's Favorite Peasant and the Triple Ruffle Leggings.  Tip:  Size up one size so for your leggings so that your leggings will fit longer than Gabby's, which will serve you better for the fall and then you can pull them out again to use in the spring (bigger bang for your buck, which is what I am all about).

Or you can pair your Faith's Favorite Peasant with the Felicia Flairs for fall

The rest of these items are really spring/summer but because of the the sizing of Swanky Baby Vintage  (2/3, 4/5, 6/7), you could really buy these items now at 25% off (especially if you are getting tired of your current summer closet or are outgrowing some of your summer clothes) and still be able to use these next year.

Additionally, if you are a retailer, wholesaler or clothing company What Gabby Wore Today needs your help for a family close to my heart. I already have a few lined up to help, all of whom will be recognized so that my readers can support their generosity, when my post runs.  If you are interested, I am looking for boys and girls clothes or shoes in specific sizes.  Email me at kamicuse@earthlink.net for more details, it is a surprise so I do not want to reveal too much here right now.

It is CLEARANCE sale time again at One Good Thread

If you have followed my blog then you know my favorite phrase is CLEARANCE SALE!!  For today only you can use NDND15 to receive an additional 15% off the SALE section of the One Good Thread Website (except Spring/Summer Persnickety).  Some Persnickety items (FALL & HOLIDAY 2011) are already marked 60% off and you can get an additional 15% off that price!!  As always at One Good Thread shipping is also FREE!!  Please note, because this is a clearance sale sizes and quantities are limited.  Here are a few of our favorite selections:

The Persnickety Yellow Bell pants, that we love, are now on sale, up to 50% off.  You are going to have to shop around for the matching top, because One Good Thread is sold out, but check the stores listed under the "Where I shop tab."

Another casual favorite is the Caroline top with the yellow stripe shorties.  One Good Thread is sold out of the yellow stripe shorties that Gabby has on but they do the grey and the pink shorties that you can use in place of the yellow stripe.  Both of these items are already marked down up to 50%.

Stepping away from the Persnickety section (yeah I know), our favorite non-Persnickety outfit of the summer season is the Misha Lulu Hello Kitty Sailor Dress (aka the Pirate Hello Kitty Dress in Gabby terms).  This dress was $56, it is on sale for $32 and with code NDND15 it becomes $27.20!!  The Livie & Luca Red Shimmer Celestina Sandals that Gabby has on in the picture are also on sale, originally $49.50, on sale for $38, add code NDND 15 and they are now $32.30 (side note, considering re-sale on Livie & Luca Shoes is about $35 per pair, you can literally wear these for free).  Also, if you are doing the math, you can get Gabby's entire took for $59.50 (only $3.50 more than the original cost of the dress), so you are again getting the shoes for free and could even make money on them.

I could go on and on with pictures of outfits but you really need to check out the One Good Thread Website for yourself and don't forget code NDND15 for 15% off the SALE section ONLY (expect spring/summer Persnickety), plus always FREE shipping.

Additionally, if you are a retailer, wholesaler or clothing company What Gabby Wore Today needs your help for a family close to my heart. A lot of LOVE for One Good Thread, Swanky Baby Vintage, Persnickety & Joyfolie

I wanted to share the current One Good Thread giveaway going on on their facebook page with  you.  Chi (owner) is giving away one pair of Swanky Baby Vintage leggings everyday this week.  To enter to win all you have to do is view this video (click here) on the One Good Thread Blog and then leave a comment on the One Good Thread facebook page.  One winner will be chosen daily and you can enter each day by leaving a new comment about Swanky Baby Vintage or the leggings.  If you do not already "like" their page, also tell them that Gabby sent you in your comment.

As for What Gabby Wore Today (well Saturday actually).  Gabby wore this TDF Jada Ruffle Dress and Brielle Shoes by Joyfolie.

The mustard yellow color got me thinking that this dress would be perfect for fall as well (yes we wore it Saturday night with leggings too because it was cool), so I bought these Persnickety Ivory Triple Ruffle Leggings from One Good Thread to complete the outfit. I don't normally mix brands but Persnickety & Joyfolie are perfect together.

Coupon Code & Product Review for Water's Edge Organics

What Gabby Wore Today has a new friend and sponsor Water's Edge Organics.  They carry Organic & Natural Baby, Child & Mommy items.  Water's Edge Organics would like to offer all of you a 25% off coupon code good on ALL ITEMS except Fall Pre-Order clothing.

We received a My Goodness Duds Organic Cotton Onesie, Wooden Teether, Bare Organics Organic Baby Balm, Earth Mama Angel Milkmaid Tea Paper Wings Butterfly Top and handmade Organic Cotton Nut & Satchi Baby Hat.

Our items arrived in this super cute Pink Mini Eco Suitcase.  This is a very nice touch if shopping for a baby shower or baby gift.  You can buy several items and have them packaged in this little suitcase, which can then double as a keepsake holder and decorative accessory the baby's nursery.  We placed a few mementos in the suitcase and then placed it on display in the nursery.

Our favorite piece is the Organic Cotton handmade hat by Nut & Satchi.  This has to be the softest piece I have ever felt.  This is not on the Water's Edge Organics' website but you can order one by emailing Darlene through the contact us portion of the website and I am going to suggest that she add these ASAP. Here is our hat and Baby Reese modeling hers.

I love this Wooden Teether.  Since it is wood it is natural and free from some of the toxins that can be found in plastics.  The circle at the bottom also makes it easier for baby to hold.  Reese is only 4 weeks old, so we were not able to try this but it is sure to be a favorite.

Also included in our package was Bare Organics Organic Baby Balm. This is unscented, so it won't irritate baby and left our skin super soft, I even tried a little on my feet.

Water's Edge Organics also has several clothing brands that use Organic Cotton, mainly Misha Lulu, Paper Wings and My Goodness Duds.  We received a Paper Wings Top and My Goodness Duds Onesie.  Reese is not big enough to model either of these pieces yet but here are pictures of them.

Please check out all the clothing lines available at already reduced prices that become a STEAL when you use code 25off, I will be grabbing a few Misha Lulu items myself...

Lastly, we received the Earth Mama Angel Milkmaid Tea for nursing moms.  Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to sit down and enjoy a cup (yet) but I did want to mention the tea and point out that it is caffeine FREE.

Water's Edge Organics has many, many more items available, children's toys, baby bedding, Waldorf Dolls, Photo Props, changing table covers, kitchen items, organic cotton, pillows, blankets and much more.  You can get 25% off all of it (excluding pre-orders) by using code 25off now through Sunday August 5.  Their shipping is economical and fast from Canada (our items arrived within a week).

Swanky Baby Vintage Giveaway from Smart and Sassy Looks

What Gabby Wore Today has another giveaway for you!!  Smart and Sassy Looks would like to give you one outfit (one top + one bottom) of your choice from the Swanky Baby Vintage Spring/Summer Line (pre-order items from the Prep School line are not included in this giveaway) and a free telephone fashion consultation, should you need help deciding what outfit to select for your daughter.  Winning is simple, comment here, on my Facebook link to this article or on Smart and Sassy Looks' Facebook page.  Winner will be selected at random on Thursday at 9 am (EST).

We received these items over the weekend from Smart and Sassy Looks to review and give our opinion on.

I was immediately in LOVE with the colors.  Typically blue is not my thing for Gabby but I love this blue, especially next to the pink.  These item are the easiest ever to mix and match to create countless outfits that can last you through 3 seasons.

Faith's Favorite Peasant is one of my all time favorite pieces, we have owned several, the sleeves are 3/4 so when you pair it with any of the pants you can use it in Spring or Fall.  Here I have paired it with the triple ruffle leggings. (Note:  We are wearing our Joyfolie Charlotte's in Metallic Cream with every outfit, Smart and Sassy Looks has these left in sizes 4, 6 & 7 - if those are your sizes YOU NEED THESE SHOES)

We also paired our Peasant Top with Felicia's Flair Capri Pants.  So, I didn't care much for these pants when I saw them online, I thought they were boxy and that they would overwhelm Gabby's little frame, but now that we have them, they are so cute and comfy!

The Felicia Flairs, Faith's Favorite Peasant and Triple Ruffle Leggings make great transition pieces for those odd weather days when you have no clue what to wear, when shorts and a top are too light or pants and long sleeve top are too heavy.

Then we paired our Felicia's Flair Capri Pants with the Totally Terrific Tank.
Or for play you can wear the Totally Terrific Tank with the Bubble Shorts.  The title of "Bubble Shorts" is a little mid-leading, I didn't think was much bubble in the shorts, which is a good thing, sometimes you just need a simple outfit!

Gabby loves dresses, so her favorite piece was the Baby Doll Dress. It is long enough to be worn alone (although I did not get a picture of if being worn alone) or with the triple ruffle leggings

Or with the scrunch leggings.  This is our first pair of scrunch leggings.  I have always bought the triple ruffle but now that I have tried the scrunch I think they are a better option for summer.  They are shorter and have less bulk on the bottom.

There are many more outfits you can create with these pieces.  I wish Gabby would have cooperated long enough to try the Peasant Top with the scrunch leggings and the Tank Top with the scrunch leggings or triple ruffle leggings, but when you work with a 3 year old you get what you get and go with it...

So, what I like best about Swanky Baby Vintage, hmmm...  Having already addressed the ease of mix and match, the next thing I like is that for about $90 (average of $30 per item shown) you can select almost any 3 pieces and use the outfit for Spring, Summer and Fall, choose your pieces wisely (1 pant and 2 tops or 1 pant, 1 short and 1 top) for maximum use and more value for your dollar and don't forget to add a $10 hair accessory to complete the outfit.  I also find that Swanky Baby Vintage washes and wears much better than many of the other boutique brands in their class.

Should you feel you must have some of these looks, Smart and Sassy Looks is also offering free shipping with coupon code Kami through the end of July.  Don't forget to enter our giveaway by simply commenting with a piece you like.  These is NO PURCHASE NECESSARY, this is totally FREE, so everyone reading should check out Smart and Sassy Looks and enter to win!

Did you notice an improvement in my photography this week?  I need to thank Becki from Becki-Jo's Photography for editing my photos and making them look fantastic!  If you are reading this in Central NewYork, you should check her out for your portrait needs.

Persnickety Picnic Dress, not just for a picnic, try it for Easter

With Gabby at gymnastics camp this week, I am struggling for outfits to write about, since the only thing she is wearing is a leotard...  So, I wanted to take this time to  feature  some items from the Persnickety Spring 2012 line that are now on clearance at many of my favorite stores.

Today, I thought I would talk about the Persnickety Picnic Dress.  This was my must have item from the spring line.

Gabby wore this for her spring / Easter pictures and again on Easter Sunday.  We love the bow at the waist and the details on the skirt portion are amazing.  This dress is currently on sale for around $40, which is a fantastic price, considering it originally retailed for $72.  I have located several picnic dresses for you at my favorite stores, in case you want one for next Easter.  The Frilly Frog  has sizes 12 months and 18 months, Addy's Closet has sizes 3, 6, 7 & 8, Smart and Sassy Looks 12 months, 18 months, 3, 7, 8  10 and One Good Thread has one lonely size 6.  The dress was even a perfect match for our photographers grey bunny.

It was cool here on Easter morning, so when we headed out to the Egg Hunt we paired it with our Stella Jacket from the Spring 2011 line.

You are going to be hard pressed to find a Stella jacket, other than on ebay or a facebook re-sale page, even there they are still hard to come by, so you can pair it with the Dottie Jacket from the Spring 2012 line.

The Dottie Jacket originally retailed for $96 but you can get it now for around $50.  Smart and Sassy Looks has sizes 18 months - 10 and Addy's Closet has sizes 12 months, 18 months, 3-6 & 10.

Last but certainly not least, a girly always needs the right shoes so we wore the picnic dress with the Charlotte in Metallic Cream Peep Toes by Joyfolie.

These shoes are also becoming hard to find but Smart and Sassy Looks has sizes 4, 6 & 7 left on sale for $40.  If those sizes don't work for you try the Joyfolie Delani available at Addy's Closet on sale for $40 in sizes 9, 13 & 1.

If you want to save even more money, ask your retailer to ship these items with your pre-order items when they come in or Smart and Sassy Looks has offered free shipping through the month of July on any size order by using coupon code Kami.

I hope you enjoy a few more pictures from our Easter Festivities and remember there are a lot of deals out there at the moment making now the best time to shop for Spring & Summer.

Persnickety Mix & Match of old & new to create affordable outfits

As I was placing my Persnickety pre-order the other day I fell in love with a particular outfit
Realizing that no matter how much I loved this outfit, I couldn't send my almost 4 year old to Pre-School in a cream lace skirt, I agonized for hours about what to do, because I had to have this look.  Then, I had an epiphany - OMG I have the black tutu skirt from the holiday 2011 line stashed away in the closet for this coming fall and could use it in place of the cream lace skirt.

So I visualized the above 4 pieces and came up with this

I started doing some looking around and A LOT of my favorite stores have this skirt left.  Not sure why, it was our favorite skirt last year, it was so easy to wash and wear, plus it matches everything, so I bought it again to have for this year.  Anyway, back to the point, Addy's Closet has this skirt in a size 8 on clearance for $26, One Good Thread has this skirt for $19.20 in sizes 12 mths, 5, 7 10 & 12 and Ready Set Grow has this skirt left in sizes 18 mths-4 for $24.

Before I go any further please note, the rest of this post is not an attack in any way on Persnickety Clothing Company's prices.  I buy loads of Persnickety at all price points (full, sale & clearance).  They are a great company, their products are 100% made in the USA and they do wonderful things for children in need with their buy one give one program (which you can read more about on their website).  That being said, I started thinking on Monday that every little girl should have a Persnickety outfit but then realized not all can afford one and to be honest, and so my husband doesn't freak out, if I wasn't so active in selling Gabby's used clothes, we wouldn't have so much Persnickety either.  I also realized that a lot of my retailer friends were sitting on several fantastic clearance items that may not sell because they don't have a match, so I matched some of them up :)

So not only did I realize that I created a super cute, pre-school friendly outfit, I also saved about $56.  The cream lace bubble skirt from this season is $76 and I paid $20 for my black tutu (a deal you can still take advantage of).  So, I then thought, how many other budget friendly outfits can I make by taking a piece from the current Fall 2012 collection and pairing it with a clearance piece from a previous collection but still available at my favorite retailers for 50% off or more.  Here are a few of the ideas I came up with.

So you like the above look but the price is still a little steep?  Remove the vest and the legging and buy just the tutu for $20 and the basic black stripe tee for $36, totaling $56, but you need leggings, substitute in these Country Kids ruffle tights (black or white) from The Frilly Frog for around $12 and you have a similar outfit (they have black, they just aren't pictured).

Another piece I liked from the Fall 2012 collection were the Brown Hazel Pants.

The various tops these are paired with can run you anywhere from $46 to $94, if you layer the slip dress underneath.  So, why not buy one of the boot applique tees from last year, now on clearance for around $26 and save yourself a lot of money and with the top being red, rather than cream, this outfit now becomes day care / pre-school friendly.

Addy's Closet has this top left a size 8, One Good Thread has a size 12 mths and 18 mths,Smart & Sassy Looks has a size 4 and Ready Set Grow has sizes 4-8, 10 & 12. If you want the cream top look and the layered look, you could also try this faux layered look by using this cream peasant top from fall 2011, available at Smart and Sassy Looks in sizes 12 mths, 18 mths, and 6-8 for $28.

Another most loved piece from fall 2012 are the knickers.

Honestly, I did not pre-order them (yet) because we don't live in Arizona, Texas or Florida so I didn't know if we would get enough wear out of them, but then I started thinking about pairing them with a few tops from the spring 2012 line so that we could wear them next spring.  Also being budget minded, I came up with an alternate top to be able to wear with these in the fall.

So, if you want a short sleeve top to wear with these and want to keep the yellow inspired look from this fall, trying pairing with the yellow Hannah Top from Spring 2012 (please excuse the wrinkles in the picture, this picture is of our Hannah and it had just finished drying and I didn't have time to iron).  You can get a Hannah Top for around $20.  Addy's Closet has sizes 12 months, 2 and 5-7, One Good Thread has sizes 18 mths and 10, Ready Set Grow has sizes 5-8, 10 & 12 and Katiebugs Kids has sizes 18 mths, 6, 7 and 10.  For a dressier look, try the short sleeve Lacey Ivory top from Spring.  You can find this shirt for $15-$18 (!!!) at Addy's Closet in sizes 12 mths, 18 mths and 4-8, Smart and Sassy Looks has this in sizes 12 mths, 18 mths, 2, 6 & 10 and Ready Set Grow has sizes 5 & 10.   If you are in a climate where you are able to wear the knickers through the winter but don't want to pay $124 for the top and vest from fall 2012, try the Cream Noelle Top from Holiday 2011.  You can get a Noelle top for around $23.  Addy's Closet has a size 2 and One Good Thread has sizes 5, 6 & 12.

If you want to save shipping costs on your clearance items, pay for them now but ask your retailer to ship them with your pre-order items when they come in.  Smart & Sassy looks has added a free shipping code to this post, use code Kami for free shipping for the entire month of July.

Believe it or not, it is time to pre-order for fall & my first GIVEAWAY, $50 store credit at Addy's Closet

Believe it or not, the fall pre-order season kicked off last week with Lemon Loves Lime and Mustard Pie and pre-orders for the crowned jewel in boutique clothing, Persnickety Clothing Company, begins tomorrow, July 2 at 11:00 am EST.

At this point, I assume everyone is familiar with pre-ordering, but if you are not, many boutiques offer items for pre-order, before they are in stock, with a down payment and then you pay the balance when your items arrive.  This is how you ensure you get the items you want, especially those hard to find items, limited edition items.

For years, I have done my pre-ordering with Addy's Closet.  On all pre-orders Addy's Closet features 25% down (with code 25down) or 50% down (no code necessary), free shipping with excellent and prompt customer service. If those payments plans don't work for you, email them at sales@addyscloset.com to work out other payment arrangements.  Please note, items will not ship to you until your balance has been paid in full.

So now the giveaway (drumroll please)  Addy's Closet has agreed to sponsor my first giveway, in the form of a $50 store credit, to be used on fall full price merchanise only (credit cannot be used on clearance merchandise).  In order to win, you must visit the Addy's Closet Pre-Order Section of their website, select your favorite piece from the pre-order section (Persnickety to be added tomorrow) and then share or comment with the name of that piece on Addy's Closet's Facebook Page or comment under the link on my facebook page or comment directly on my blog (comment section below)  to be entered to win.  Contest will close at 11 pm EST on Tuesday July 3.  The winner will be chosen by a random drawing and the winner will be posted on my blog as well as the Addy's Closet facebook page.

Here are a few of my favorite choices

Lemon Loves Lime, which I have already pre-ordered

Lemon Loves Lime, on my wish list

And a few piece from my Persnickety Wish List...
